Windows 7 64-bit version installs 32-bit programs to Program Files (x86)
folder, and 64-bit programs to Program Files
folder. Of course, Microsoft must have a reason for doing that, but as a user I don't find it handy to have 2 separate program folders. Is there any way to merge those folders into one (preferably, Program Files
) without corrupting installed programs?
And would it be a problem to install 32-bit applications into Program Files
folder?
